General: RankTheNet.com was developed with the vision of creating the cleanest, spam free directory / search engine on the Internet. Unfortunately the Internet has become a stomping ground for schemers, spammers, and dishonest websites that are making it increasingly confusing for users to find what they are looking for. By creating a directory where EVERY website is human reviewed and evaluated we believe we will be able to offer users a place where they will feel comfortable searching for products, services, and information. Webmasters: When you submit your site to rankthenet.com one of our professional site reviewers will analyze your site based on a variety of factors. Your site will be given a numeric score for each factor. All your factor scores will be weighted and averaged to give you a final score. Sites are ordered in each category from highest score to lowest. Although we will not make the actual numeric scores public information, we will inform you which factor your site ranked the lowest for, this way you will know exactly which aspect of your site needs the most attention in order for your ranking to improve. If you make major changes to your site we do allow you to request up to 3 reviews per year, but no more than 1 per month. We keep very strict guidelines with our site reviewers but we do realize that there is some room for opinion and interpretation when ranking sites. Because of this we make sure all sites in a specific category are reviewed by the same person in order to ensure fairness. We also guarantee no site reviewer will have any interest in the category which they review. Users: While developing Rankthenet.com we had one main vision, and that was to provide Internet users with a gateway to great websites. We take the reviewing of every website extremely seriously in order to maintain consistent results. We constantly monitor the sites in our directory in order to prevent webmasters from showing one site to us and then switching it once they are accepted into the directory, which has become a common practice in other directories and search engines. Since it is almost impossible to maintain this type of standard 100% of the time, we welcome input from our users if you come across any sites that don't seem to fit in. |
